In 2014, within the project “Development of Social Enterprises”, social enterprise “Art koda” received a business grant.
„I first learned about the grant contest from AYEGs’ Facebook page. Two representatives of our social enterprise participated in the trainings conducted within the project. Our involvement in this project was successful, and in 2014 we got funding about 2000 GEL. In 2013, we founded the social enterprise and we were planning expansion. We haven’t had appropriate equipment for printing and were going to buy it. Now income of our social enterprise mainly comes from printing. Without this equipment we would not be as successful as we are now. Therefore, this project has a crucial impact for our enterprise.
The company operates in two directions, Georgian craft and printing. Handicrafts integrates several directions, such as Enamel, Felt and etc. Currently the company employs 15 people and several volunteers. Due to the peculiarities of our industry mainly women are employed, but for future we are going to hire some mail employees for printing.
I would advise future entrepreneurs to clearly understand what they want to do, set a specific goal and will achieve their desired result.”
