On the 18th of December was held the presentation of the desk-research report “Women’s Economic Opportunities and Challenges” and quantitative and qualitative survey results “Economic needs of the women living in the rural areas” implemented by the Association of Young Economists of Georgia.
The desk research aimed to evaluate the economic state of women and reveal their entrepreneurial opportunities. The basic emphasis was made on identification of the challenges faced by the women residing in rural areas, also, developing recommendations which will promote economical empowerment of women. The consolidated analysis of quantitative and qualitative researches represents women’s economical state and entrepreneurial opportunities in rural areas of the following regions: Kakheti, Imereti, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Mtskheta-Mtianeti.
Also at the presentation was introduced the guidebook “Woman in Business” prepared by the AYEG in the scopes of the project. The guidebook was elaborated for women entrepreneurs and also the women who want to start a business.
The representatives of the legislative and executive government, international and non-governmental organizations, political parties, and the media attended the presentation.
The survey has been implemented by the Association of Young Economists of Georgia with the support of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Women’s Information Center (WIC) in the framework of the Program “Women as Agents for Change and Empowerment”.
