In the scopes of the project “Women as Agents for Change and Empowerment”, Association of Young Economists of Georgia held five focus-group meetings with the local women in Leliani village in Kakheti, Tsikhisjvari and Toloshi - in Samtskhe-Javakheti, Shukruti – in Imereti and Magharoskari – in Mtskheta-Mtianeti.
The focus-groups aimed at identifying economic needs and priorities of the women living in the target villages. Each meeting was grouped with the active women participants from the local community who spoke about the gaps and challenges that they are facing in their household entrepreneurial activity. They’ve also described their availability on bank services and credits, job opportunities, and the issues they set as priorities in terms of education and finances.
The project is being implemented with the USAID financial support, in partnership with Women Information Centre, “Taso” foundation, Institute for War and Peace Reporting and the local NGO from Gali.
