Future without poverty

The aim of the project:

To influence the government policy to ensure considerable improvement of social and health state of the population  living in poverty.

In the scopes of the project labor market survey was conducted in Imereti region, which is characterized by high level of unemployment rate. As a result of the survey the market demand on certain occupations and handwork was assessed and the viewpoints and needs of the employers were identified. In December, 2007 the training was delivered to the unemployed population. The model of employment program was developed in May 2008 based on the results of the state employment program monitoring.

On the date of MDG midpoint (07.07.07) Bus Tour was arranged in west Georgia and  extremely poor people in Imereti and Adjara regions received information on the state social programs they can benefit from. 

A concert “Future without Poverty” was held on October 17, 2007. The mobilization actions as echo of the world action were held on March 8 and May 1, 2008.  

“Future without Poverty” alliance is the national platform of the international movement “Global Call to Action against Poverty” (GCAP).
