Future without poverty

The aim of the project:

To contribute to reducing the number of people living in extreme poverty, and the level of maternal and child mortality through influencing the Government of Georgia; also to support the achievement of Millennium Development Goals.

In the scopes of the project workshops with the alliance representatives were held on a regular basis. The regional meetings with non-government organizations held in Batumi, Kutaisi, Gori and Zugdidi. More than 80 participants, representatives of the regional NGOs attended the meetings. The alliance volunteers have attended the special trainings. On the 17th of October 2006 started the collection of signatures on the petitions –International Day against Poverty, and a Stand Up action was organized. On the 3rd of March 2007 the action was held where the Minister of Labor, Health Care and Social Welfare - Lado Tchipashvili and Chair of the Parliament Healthcare Committee - Gigi Tsereteli were provided with the 20 654 citizens’ signed petitions.
