Our story started in dark 90s, when a group of motivated young economists united under the idea of introducing modern principles of economy and aimed at improving economic awareness and supporting the country’s development in large.  

It is hard to imagine and somehow hard to believe that in 1989 – 2 weeks from April 9, when the country had not yet acquired independence, while the Georgian economy was shifted three decades back and the economy was deeply in crisis, the AYEG was founded, in response to support the economic development, to promote democracy in order to contribute to the country advance.

1 small room, 1 table, several chairs, 1 printing machine, no electricity, no heating. But a number of young economists, full of enthusiasm, which offered their mite, knowledge and efforts_ that’s the beginning of the AYEG story.

Since the very beginning, each and every year of 30 bore the great importance and the value as to the Association so for the country in large.

Years passed, environment developed just as we grew.  The number of followers, supporters, and partners of AYEG grew, the regional network was created, the number of programs and projects increased. 30 year experience confirms that we can really be proud of our sustainable job we do and love so much.

Our 30-year path has always been facing challenges and problems.

We are one of the first NGOs in Georgia that has been focused on facilitating the economic development of the country from the very first day of its establishment.

We are proud of the achievements and ready to take up new challenges.
